Continue to Koforidua. Tour of the Cocoa plantation and processing plant in the village of Tafo.. We shall be based at Koforidua for the next 4 nights.
Saturday 22 October 2011
We shall spend the day visiting the remote village of Assesewa meeting the people and learning about village life.
Sunday 23 October 2011
On Sunday we will join the Bishop at Koforidua Cathedral for worship. In the afternoon we shall visit the Boti Falls .
Monday 24 October 2011
We travel to the village of Kwabeng to visit the Secondary School there. We shall have the opportunity to meet and share with pupils and staff. On the way, we shall have a brief wander around a local Palm Oil plantation.
Tuesday 25 October 2011
Travel from Koforidua to Kumasi. On the way we shall visit a Diocesan Clinic and also the traditional Ashanti shrine at Besease. Stay in Kumasi for 2 nights.

In the morning we visit the Mampong Babies Orphanage and St. Monica’s Educational Centre, one of the most important in Ghana, which includes Primary and Secondary Schools and Educational Institute. On our return, we shall have a leisurely wander around Kejetia Market, the largest open air market in West Africa, In the evening we meet with the Bishop of Kumasi.

The morning begins with a visit to the National Cultural Centre and the Prempreh II Jubilee Museum of Ashanti History, before proceeding to ‘Hans Cottage Botel’ near Cape Coast for two nights – famed for its restaurant situated on stilts in the middle of a crocodile lake!

Visit Kakum Rainforest National Park, with a guided walk in the Forest by a local ranger, and a visit to the Mosomagor village where we shall be entertained by local musicians and dancers. We shall also walk the famous rainforest canopy walk viewing the forest from above.

We visit the Cape Coast Slave Fort. Have lunch at the Castle Cafe on the beach. And then visit the Anglican Theological College in Cape Coast which serves the whole of West Africa. We then proceed to the Coconut Grove Beach Resort at Elmina for 2 nights..

Morning Service at Cape Coast Cathedral with Bishop of Cape Coast. In the afternoon we visit Elmina Slave Fort, the largest and most important Slave Fort in the whole of West Africa. The rest of the day is free to relax at Coconut Grove.
Monday 31 October 2011
A leisurely morning at Coconut Grove. Late morning, we depart for Accra. In Accra we visit the Cultural Centre – last opportunity for souvenirs and presents! Travel to the airport for our evening flight to London.

The current estimated cost of this visit is: £1430 per person. ( This is due to increased costs across the board and the very precarious sterling/dollar exchange rates.)(There will be a Single supplement for those who require it of £160.)

- Lunch and evening meals. (Food is very cheap in Ghana. You can probably budget about £7 per evening meal with drinks, and about £5 for lunch)
