About us
Wider Horizons was formed on the basis of over 20 years experience of planning and leading pilgrimages and visits to various parts of world, mostly in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. It is owned and run by Victoria Ashdown, with the help of her husband, Revd Andrew Ashdown. Both have travelled extensively, independently and together. We offer economical and unusual journeys, which seek to enrich and enhance understanding and encounter for all who are involved.
We are pleased that all our 2008 visits are shared with Christians Aware, and we encourage organisations that have links with the countries we visit, to participate. For every participant of a visit, a donation is given by Wider Horizons either to the Charity/Organisation through whom they are joining the visit, or to a project local to the destination.
Our hope is that such a relationship will benefit both the organisations working in these countries, and the communities we visit.
